Award-winning puppeteer Hobey Ford brought storytelling to life for students at Black Mountain Primary and Black Mountain Elementary. Known for his masterful puppetry and innovative shadow performances, Ford captivated young audiences with his lifelike creations and heartfelt stories.

During the performances, students were introduced to a world where puppets soared, danced, and transformed right before their eyes. Ford used his signature “foamies,” hand-carved foam puppets, to explore themes of nature, culture, and creativity. His shadow puppetry segments, paired with music and narration, left students wide-eyed with wonder.

Teachers and staff praised the show for blending art, literacy, and imagination. “It was more than entertainment,” one teacher noted. “It was an unforgettable experience that brought storytelling to life in a new way.”

Hobey Ford’s visit was part of the school’s ongoing efforts to expose students to diverse forms of art and culture. Judging by the applause and excitement in the room, it’s safe to say his performance made a lasting impression.
