The BCSF Learning Society alongside BCSF Board

The Buncombe County Schools Foundation (BCSF) hosted its first-ever Learning Society Mixer Thursday evening at District 42 inside Hotel Arras.

BCSF Director Christy Cheek

Sponsored by Market Connections, the event brought together Learning Society members for an evening of connection and conversation. Attendees had the opportunity to mingle with one another and meet members of the BCSF Board, strengthening relationships that support public education across the district.

The Learning Society is a network of individuals who believe in the power of public education and ensuring students are safe, supported and prepared to succeed. Members can take an active role in the foundation’s work by serving on committees such as scholarships, grants, development and marketing.

BCS Assistant Superintendent Chip Cody

Membership in the Learning Society begins with a minimum annual contribution of $1,000. These funds directly support key initiatives and programs, including Teacher of the Year, Principal of the Year, the BCS Joint Military Ball, the BCS Top Scholar Banquet and the BCS Bookmobile.

Through events like the mixer, the foundation continues to build a community of advocates dedicated to making a lasting impact on students and educators.
