Asheville Kiwanis Club Donates Scholarships to BCS Students

The Asheville Kiwanis Club continued a special tradition for Buncombe County Schools Students. The group recently presented $500 scholarships to several graduating seniors who are members of their schools’ respective Key Clubs.

According to club members, the Asheville Kiwanis Club has sponsored many Key Clubs in Buncombe County Schools during its 100+ year history and has given out thousands of dollars in scholarships to deserving students. This supports the Kiwanis mission of improving the world one child and one community at a time. According to KeyClub.org, Key Club is the oldest and largest high school service organization in the world. Founded in 1925, there are thousands of clubs in over 38 countries. It is a self-governing, student-led organization that empowers its members to lead and serve by cultivating leadership skills, developing friendships, and performing community service.
